My visit to Palm Beach in Aruba
Monday, May 3rd, 2010I am writing from Palm Beach, Aruba. Palm Beach is the main hotel district. Palm Beach is filled with high rise hotels, beach bars and restaurants. It’s a nice area with calm waters and hot sun but windy right now. Lots of wind surfers and kite surfers here. I may try kite surfing – looks like fun!
This city is northwest of Oranjestad, (the capital of Aruba), and is home to a new shopping district. Since the boom in the tourism industry, several five-star hotels have opened in the area as well as some upscale malls and shopping centers. Several time-share ownership and full-time ownership condos have been or are being built in the area as well.
The beaches in Aruba are considered to be among the cleanest, widest, and most spectacular in the Caribbean region. The powder-fine, white-sand is perfect for soaking up the Caribbean sun. All you need is plenty of suntan lotion and a refreshing cocktail, both of which are not hard to come by on Aruba!

Aruba Marriott Surf Club View of Palm Beach

Last night I was able to capture this incredibly beautiful sunset over Palm Beach in Aruba. I’m off to explore & maybe do a little kite surfing – check back for more photos later.
